Anne Valerie Hash has been experimenting with ease in women’s tailoring, but it was her Spring Summer 2011 presentation this Wednesday that truly captured the essence of casual Parisian sophistication.

In a palette of romantic earth tones and dusty pinks complemented by cooler neutrals, Hash created a lovely collection of utterly wearable and effortless pieces. Through her well-loved use of draping, she managed to make jersey cotton glamorous in relaxed, tapered pants and tops with asymmetric ruching. Even suspenders – paired with a mini skirt and jersey pants—looked very chic on the runway. The khaki jersey trousers were the staple of the show, however, and were paired with button down shirts and leather blazers with exposed seams, a beige jacket that flowed down the body flawlessly, and a stone colored cowl neck top with yellow ruffle running down the side. The mini skirts were a final highlight, with silk waistbands and layers of silk and chiffon in all hues gathered to the side – an interesting choice for Hash considering the plethora of midi and maxi hem lengths seen in earlier Spring Summer 2011 collections.

The finished look was soft and romantic, and not the least bit intimidating as some of the shows at Paris Fashion Week have been. No doubt many women will be eager to see the Anne Valerie Hash collection on shelves this coming spring.
